Child Benefit is a tax-free monthly payment to anyone bringing up a child or young person.
It is not affected by income or savings so most people bringing up a child or young person qualify for it. The ASE programme meets the eligibility criteria for child benefit payments.
LFE has produced a guidance sheet for parents to use when making a Child Benefit application. This document can be printed off and attached to claim forms to provide supporting supplementary information.
Please click on the link below to download the guidance document.

Parents can also claim direct by contacting the Child Benefit call centre in Newcastle Upon Tyne on 0845 302 1444 or by using the claim form and pre-paid envelope available at Post Offices.
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that parents state that their son is on the ASE Programme when making a claim.
If your application is not resolved, having provided the above information, then ask for your application/paperwork to be sent/referred directly to the Full-Time Education Section of HM Revenue & Customs at Washington.
